OMG! He was everything I thought he'd be.

I'm back from the time of my life. I can't believe I've actually seen him. In person. Close up. He was simply stunning. Not as provocative or sexually explicit as some other shows, but still stunning. He was fun, cheeky, awesome, close up, full of glitter and wore a big smile. He was fantastic. He sung his face off. I loved it. I would do it again.

I was at the stadium by 5 and lines to the Pitt had already started, though it wasn't that long. It was cloudy and not too hot and even though I was by myself, I quickly friended several people who were waiting with me. A bunch of three 20 somethings, a quiet Chinese guy with Glambert hair and an another 40 something woman who was also by herself. While Adam's music blared in the background, we chatted, laughed, they facebooked on their fancy phones and we stuck together. We waited like this for 2 hours. Finally, at almost 7, the line started to move. By this time, our line was really long and I was grateful that I'd come early. We got the bag check, I ditched the water bottle I'd been carrying (they weren't letting anyone take water in - apparently water is a security risk) and hoped they didn't find my camera inside my little glam-bag, which was tucked away neatly inside the bigger bag that my friend insisted I take. I'm glad she did. My bag was too little, but made a nice cover for my camera.

Once inside, the 5 of us ran, down the stairs, down the hall, down another hall, round a corner and finally emerged near the stage. It's the longest run I've had in 10 years. There were already 5 rows of people there, so I ended up being 5 or 6 people back from the front, looking at the centre of the stage. I spotted the 'writhing on the stairs' stairs and smiled, hoping that he'd use them.

And we waited some more. And then some. Music played, the lights blared and people screamed everytime they saw a picture of Adam flash up on the screen. At 8, the lights dimmed and the announcer told everyone to scream if they loved Adam. The did - and then the support act came on. A dancer/singer somebody who was really quite good and then another support act did their thing for two songs. People took photos, but they were really just practicing for when Glambert came out.

The lights went up again and we waited some more. 40 minutes. I was hot and tired and my back was killing me. Struck up a conversation with another lady from Singapore who'd flown over to see him. She was in her mid-50's and just as excited as I was.

Then the lights dropped, the band came on stage and I held my breath. Spotlight onto Adam - I screamed. I couldn't help myself. So happy and in awe of this guy. Everything about him was perfect and he was wearing my favourite pants of his - the ones with the lace up crotch. He sang Voodoo and then For Your Entertainment which I have always wanted to hear live and never really thought I would. He camped it up a little, we could see his facial expressions. He's gorgeous to look at. Tall too. He was theatrical with his glittered hair, rhinestones around his eyes and tear-drop eye makeup. He looked happy, he can sing and smile at the same time. We screamed and jumped and behaved like the teenagers next to us. Then FEVER, my favourite song of his, without the boy-on-boy kiss, but instead he darted a sexy look to his bass player, Tommy Joe Ratcliff. He danced his way through Fever and I remember thinking that he's a really good dancer as well. He can move body parts in ways they are not designed for and then some. He did an acoustic set next and his voice was spectacular. He spoke and his voiced surprised me. It sounds higher and softer in person, it was almost though not quite, delicate. Not like the Adam I know from countless youtube videos.

Each song was as fantastic as the last, every note perfect. My eyes didn't leave him. Quite a few time he stopped directly in front of us and I drank him in, not wanting to forget how he looks and savouring every look, every twitch that he made and reminding myself to remember this forever. Watching his eyes and again being surprised at the amount of glitter he manages to use without making himself look tacky. LOL! More screaming, jumping and hoping the show would last. He encored with Mad World, the song that Simon Cowell gave him a standing ovation for in American Idol. He rocked in 20th Century Boy for a second encore which I was hoping would be Whole Lotta Love, but I'm not complaining. It was all good.

This picture is from my own camera, just to prove to myself that it wasn't all a dream.
How close was I? Close I tell you. I could see that man's eyes move, his facial expressions, his smile - OMG his smile is beautiful.

He's an amazing showman with a stage presence that few others have ever had. He loves it and it shows. And we love him back for it.

My ears are ringing but my heart is full. It's the best money I've ever spent on myself. And now to sleep and hopefully to dream it all over again. Sigh.

:)
