And there are questions...

that go around in my head. These are those:

Why does the damn fettucine stick together when I cook it and then become half undercooked, half overcooked pasta?

Are face masks really necessary? So hot, so uncomfortable and not guaranteed to protect, so it's not like we're really wearing them.

Should the child of a friend call the ex's girlfriend, Mummy? (I say no!)

Why do Americans desecrate their food and then want to stick it down their own throats? See this site: This is why you're fat

Who's drinking all the milk?

Where is my money going to?

Were rollerblades really a good idea to give to both my kids (who turned 7 and 9 ) this week?

Why does my internet connection keep dropping out? Is it the governments fault or just my usb wireless port thingy?

Why am I craving sugar and coffee? If alcohol wasn't so expensive here I think I'd be craving that too.

Should we get noodles tonight for dinner, or should I cook? "Wet kuay teow" for RM 8. Yummo!

Lets go backward,
1. http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=slv8-ptec&p=Wet%20kuay%20teow because I had no idea what meal this was I went here. The first site was identified as dangerous by my security??? The second site was unfinished so with my ability to change to a different subject I left sort of knowing it was something for not much money.
2. I found it darned hard to give up sugar. Do not want to give up a coffee every two days. I had my Dutch (Muslim) coffee today with “Mohammed and Aniisah”.
3. My dial up internet drops out all too often. Wished I knew the reason.
4. Hmm let me think, is it safe to combine children, speed, two wheels and no brakes? Answer is NO! Perhaps I should rephrase that. Is it essential that kids eventually test themselves, fall down, get up and try again in a reasonable environment? YES. Oh dear, I still recall those dangerously enjoyable days of monkey bars, slides without sides and metal swings without seat belts. Who would have thought all those years ago that we would join the word “Fun” and “OH&S”? Still it has shifted responsibility from the parents to those that thought a park for children was a good idea!
5. Money going? Really? A little unique that question. I know where my money is going and I cannot do a blessed thing about it! (Sorry ‘bout the language).
6. Milk disappearing? I do not care. I am still thinking about where my money is going. My grandchildren will be 21 before they pay off the Federal Gov. stimulus loans. I know where my money is going and I have just reminded myself that I can tell these currently 4 year kids where their money is going as they grow up! Actually, based on past history, they will be 21 at the start of the third recession between now and then. What 7 to 10 year financial recession cycle?
7. That is why I am Fat? Dear heaven I could not eat that, I did not eat that and I am still “cuddly”. Last time there I was taken by the number of steamed vegies, always fried chips though, steak and lack of fish. Even on the coast they have no fish or variety compared to Australia. It is amazing that our visitors from the US (and Sweden) are taken aback by the array of food here, the variation and high quality. I should “throw” in hygiene as well. I have not seen a butcher here separating the frozen chops by smashing them on the footpath (Korea).
8. Assuming mummy is somewhere around I would normally say NO.
9. Face masks? I thought it amazing that in Vietnam they wear face masks because of polluted air. They then cook fish farmed in what I would describe as undiluted sewers and eat rice and greens grown in paddocks fertilised with more human faeces. It seems wrong to be removing a mask to eat that food. Here in Oz men need to wear hair and face masks (beard or not) when in the food industry. Women only hair nets. Value of the mask I suspect relies on where you are. They fog up my glasses when I need to wear them at work.
10. Pasta! Sorry another flash back to Vietnam.

Let's go forward on your comment:

1. It's not officially called wet kuay teow. That's just what the locals call it. It's flat rice noodles cooked up with some shrimp, chicken or beef, ginger, garlic and spring onions in a soup-ish sauce - fantastic comfort food.

2. MMmmmmmmm sugar....

4. 2 children, 8 wheels and 2 brakes. And they are having so much fun.

5. I didn't say my questions were unique. I don't choose what goes round in my head.

6. I think I'm spending all my money buying more milk.

7. You're cuddly/spongy because of what you drink. You didn't stop in time to lose the weight. Now you're older, it's going to be harder / impossible, even though you're not drinking as much anymore. :)
