Relentless is probably too strong a word for what's happening, but I do like a bit of drama, doncha know.
So... what's happening? Well, my world has been taken over by the kids schooling. With the two kids going to school at different times, it seems that I do everything twice and there's no end to it all. After I've gotten my daughter to school at 7, I come home and rather than exercise (which was the plan and still is the plan when I get less tired), I go back to bed and have a really deep, two hour sleep. I'm not sleeping well yet because I think in the back of my mind, I think that I'm going to sleep through my alarm and cause the daughter umpteen amounts of stress making her late for school. This was proven the other day when I leapt out of bed, looked at the time (8.00) and realised I'd actually done it (slept through the alarm). I tore out of my room, burst into my daughter's room to wake her up - and she wasn't there. I wondered for a second where she might be at this time and then realised I'd already taken her to school. I'd completely forgotten. So, you can see what I'm dealing with here. I went out and bought a back up alarm clock that day.
The rest of the morning is taken up with housework, making lunch (or going out to buy it as I am more apt to do now) and getting my son ready for school. I drop him off at 12.40, wait around for 10 minutes and pick up my daughter and get her home for her lunch and homework. Then I teach, finish at 5.30, cook dinner, pick up the son, feed everyone and then it's time to get his homework done. I sit with him to do it to keep him on task because otherwise it doesn't get done in time. By the time that's finished, it's time for showers and bed. At around 10.30 / 11pm. I go to sleep and then that bloody alarm goes off again at 6 am, which is always way too soon and the whole ritual starts all over again.
The Saturday just past was a school day as well, meant to be a replacement day for the Chinese New Year Holidays, where the kids will get a week off. However, the Sultan of Johor died on Friday night so school was canceled, but we didn't find this out until after we'd woken and gotten ready early Saturday morning. Boy, was daughter pissed. All that homework she'd done the night before - and I'd really pushed her to get it done, was now not needed. All the stress for nothing. Oh well, these things happen. And to top it off, when we went to the pool later in the afternoon, it was closed as a sign of respect. Again, my daughter, not happy. She even had a tantrum about it.
So it's getting a little bit too much. But in a way, it's good to be busy. It helps the time pass and means I really have to be present. I'm doing well, mood wise. I'm not the one that needed my xanax prescription refilled today. I am the one feeling confident and strong, even if things do get a little overwhelming sometimes. One of the things that's surprised me is that even though I've found it 'relentless', I've been able to keep up with most things. Sure, there's lots of ironing to be done, but the uniforms are always ready, their shoes are cleaned and dried each week and the kids always finish their homework.
Now it's time to teach. In the meantime, have a little look at this - ex's next big project - www.segamat.com . I'll tell you about this little thing later. How nice are people when they need you? Think about it.

Ah yes parenthood it is all so easy until you need to do it.
I am surprised that any children by any parent over the years have survived.
Perhaps parenting is only demanding when you are wanting to do the right thing!
Yes I had a look at the web site.
I do not understand the sub heading "It is not all about the Durians".
The other issue is that the site is wanting authors from Segamat on Segamat or issues that might interest Segamatians.
I wonder if the site is advertising Segamat or does J want it to be a blog?
Cheers
The heading is supposed to be It's not all about the durians - meaning Segamat has more to it than the durians it's famous for. But I've had a look around - and there's not much about I'm afraid.
He's doing it as a community resource, with blogs, articles and advertising.
Ha Ha our parents made it look easy and now you know the truth. I am lucky enough to be through the worst of it but kust think what it would be like with four children with very different interests and at different schools, you will live, it only seems hard because your not in the rourine of it yet, you will figure out how to maximise your efficiency at some stage. (He He He) Been there done that only a few more years to go and all mine will be either working or at uni. Wooo Hooooo
So G he get paid for the work he puts in?? Is there anyone from Segamat that has become famous?? Or infamous??
Hi Pete, yeah, I know, I've only got two kids, so I don't really have a lot on my plate. The project is in conjunction with a friend and they're supposed to make money via sponsored listings from businesses in the district. So no, he's not getting paid directly for it.
Frankly, even though I want it to be be successful, I'm not sure it's going to be that big financially. Whatever, I've given up caring where he gets his money from. As long as when I say "give me money for groceries" he hands it over.
